Name Brands and My Experience With Them

Honda - Absolutely love them. I've been a loyal customer since 1988. Their cars are just bulletproof and last forever. And when they do make a mistake as in Odyssey transmission failures, they stand behind their product. Automotive nirvana as far as I'm concerned.

Dodge - bought a new 84 in 84, and based on that experience, never again.

Delta Faucets - Mixed - The kitchen one started leaking within a year or two, and I understand their much ballyhooed lifetime warranty is only on the finish. Argghhh. On the other hand the bathroom one is pretty nice.

Price-Pfister faucets - horrible! The handles just fell off and they feel horrible to turn.

Dell - Very good, as long as you buy wisely, i.e get the graphics card and memory slots you need.

Apple - mixed - so far my daughter's Macbook is fine, but her Video iPod died about the day the warranty was up. So far my other daughter's Nano is fine.

    Price Pfister = Fisher Price!
We had one with the sprayer as part of the spout and it blew off at my husband one day. What a mess!

Funny! But an insult to Fisher-Price - their stuff NEVER broke!

Can you elaborate what was wrong with your Dodge? I'd like to hear more about that. Thanks.

You bet! 1984 Daytona Turbo, built on a K car platform. I was a regular at the dealer for all kinds of niggling electrical problems, which is why I finally traded it on an 89 Acura Integra - had to park it on a hill at that point to bump start it - at 5 years old! Thankfully the turbo part was an absolute blast and very reliable - about the only saving grace of that car! The low profile Goodyear Eagle GT tires wore unevenly giving it a choppy ride. The paint was thinner than paper. When I complained to the Zone Office about that, they said rock chips were normal wear, but I've never had ANY car get rock chips THAT bad. Their customer satisfaction department TOTALLY sucked eggs - all they were concerned about was getting rid of me at no cost, not with keeping me as a lifetime customer as Honda has. And to think I almost bought a Prelude, but they still had carburetors at the time instead of fuel injection, plus they were pretty pricey and somewhat of a girl's car. And I knew better than to buy a Chrysler, I actually went in to look at the rebadged Mitsubishi Starion/Dodge Conquest Turbo, and it was a hoot but too expensive, then I saw the Daytona and got hooked. I did like its styling and interior, but the interior didn't hold up - the seats sagged. Just a horrible overall experience.

Bought a Dodge truck in 88 and 97...BOTH still in great condition. Guess I got the winners.
Faucets I like are Moen. Make sure you like them cuz they last forever.

Yes, Nic, I don't think 1984 was a very good year for Chryslers!

The faucets I replaced were builder-installed Moens - they were pretty good, and I think I may have just replaced them because they got pretty ugly cosmetically - there was paper in there that looked like it got wet.

So, I guess you're a car person. How was the Integra? I assume that was much more reliable? I don't think they make those anymore. Replaced by the RSX. I've been looking at those. Big Grin Well, it doesn't cost anything to look, right?

Ehh, don't diss the Apple, k? Wink I'm an Apple fan and use nothing but Macs because well...I want to get something accomplished rather than spend time fighting my computer!
Thanks for your mini-reviews, though. Nice! Wink

Grr - I had a long reply typed out but it got wiped when I went to login. Short version - yes, the Integra was a great car, my daily driver for 14 years! I would look at a Civic these days, the RSX is so darn pricey! Actually I probably need to buy used from now on. Right now I drive a 1995 del Sol, so I am definitely a cheap skate, but I love it.

I am a new Honda customer, so I am really hoping to be one of the many happy ones! I bought a 2008 Fit 2 weeks ago and love it so far. Smile

You know, that's just the thing. I actually saw used RSXes for as little as 15k! I'm not saying I would pay for that, or that there isn't something wrong that I am not aware of, but wow... so very tempting. Big Grin But realistically, my next car will probably be another Corolla.

Ah Del Sol... now there's another car I would not have minded owning....

Funny, BA, I really wanted to buy the Chevy Prizm, a rebadged Corolla for my daughter, but somehow we wound up with the del Sol, which then became my work car. And it hurt me to have to pass on another Prizm that was for sale cheap, $1800, but it'll be a year or so before it is needed. I've heard quite a few instances of people getting over 200,000 miles on them!

Funny, we have 2 Dodge products and love them! Actually I'm on my second Dodge truck - never had a problem with the first and now onto my second one and again, nary a problem. Hubster drives a Dodge Neon and we really like that little car. So far, so good! Knock wood!!!
