Our automotive black cloud (hit and runs)

January 11th, 2008 at 12:01 am

My wife is dealing with a hit and run in a parking lot now, making a police report, I think. So I wonder if my insurance company will jack up our rates again, even if we don't make a claim??! (See earlier similar rant). It feels like I am in the Twilight Zone since we keep getting hit and our rates keep going up at the same time our cars get more dented. The high school parking lot took a HUGE toll on the car my daughter drives - dings all over the doors.

Wow, that's crazy. I really do hate it when people do that. It's pretty serious too. You can get arrested if you're caught for hit&run.

I hate that. We have 3 vettes and people ding them on purpose. I park way way out and walk.

I was in a slight hit and run and filed a police report. I did file a small $400 claim to replace molding on the side of my Jeep and my rates went up about $40 for the year.

So sorry to hear about the hit and run. DD's car got vandalized fairly severely one time and we had to file a police report although we never filed it on insurance. I never thought to check to see if it showed on our insurance rates. Glad your wife is okay!

Well, the cop called back, he couldn't get a plate or ID, so they got way with it. Oh well, that van has a few other war wounds, one more won't kill it. We appreciated that the cop and bystanders tried as hard as they did - no one likes to see an injustice like that.
